U2 is releasing their new album this fall and a couple sites have a clip of the band recording the album. Its low quality but worth a check for any U2 fan.

At the ModClub someone asked if the boys were planning on releasing recording of their shows (a la Pearl Jam). I noticed the LiveWire trucks outside the two shows I have been to so far, here is what I have dug up from http://www.livewireremote.com/ :

Canadian icons The Tragically Hip hired the LiveWire mobile to record two nights at Toronto’s Mod Club Theatre, as well as their sold out Canada Day concert at the Molson Amphitheatre. The second night at the Mod Club was broadcast live nationwide on twenty fm stations by the Blue Sky Radio Network. It will also air later in July on Bell Sympatico’s netcast service. The shows served as a release party for the band’s new album, “In Between Evolution”.

Perhaps this will be the medium through which they release these shows???
I will post a pic of the truck, but it wont give me the option right now...

A brief blurb in the Entertainment section, which also includes some really cool Rush quotes. Unfortunately, the online edition doesn't include the two fantastic MacNaughton photos from the Bath session.

I guess you'll have to pick up a copy to see the photos (Which isn't all bad since there are some VERY informative and entertaining election pieces in there...) and hey ladies, I'm hearing from the fairer sex that Johhny looks "sexier than ever" in the backyard photo... meh, I'd say he looks okay... shirt could use a wash...

Maybe somebody who knows what they're doing with a scanner can add them here.

Anyway, here's the deal:

I was just listening to the hip in S'toon back in 91. What an awesome show. I got this from Rory back in the day. I know Rory's collection has changed hands and it is now next to impossible to get any of those old gems that were in Rory's collection. Rory was very quickly approaching 500 boots and had many many old shows that he was willing to trade, b&p or whatever. The shows from before 96 are getting very hard to find. I just wonder why people even bother taping shows if not to spread the music we all live for around. I've met a few tapers in my travels and getting boots out of some of these guys is like pulling teeth. I won't name names but I can if needed, you know who you are. Others are awesome (thanks Gus for gettin the edmonton show out so soon!!) I am very proud of the shows I've taped and am willing to share with who ever asks me for them. I usually try and throw in a couple of extra discs cause let's face it they are only a few cents each and the pleasure you get from the boots is priceless. Spreading hip boots around is second only to a hip show. It's the tunes that brought us all to this site to begin with. Let's keep the music free and available to any who ask.

beware the unfriendly taper. I will find your mics on tour, and you thought the whistle was bad in edmonton now I have wire cutters

If anyone is interested, I have several Hip Skins for WinAmp.
I have had them for years.
I did not make them though, but I can not find the sight where I got them from, I am pretty sure it is gone.
If anyone would like some, PM me.
