Stumbled across this decent review of IBE yesterday. The "Metro Times" is Detroits definitive Entertainment guide....

Saw Rush on Thursday near Boston and although it rained it was one awesome show....there is only one word...tight...wow! Over 3 hour set, great setlist mixing oldies and new...very good jam/video montonge to open the show (instrumental combining songs from all their albums.) Glad I picked that over the Phish Phiasco which is about an hour away from where I live...

Johnny can play the skins, but here is the master...

OK. I Totally stole it, but does Gord look vicious or not?

I've always loved the picture myself.

Totally stolen from aheadbyacentury.com (not sure if we've talked/e-mailed or not) but I think it is one of the most powerful pics of THE man I've seen.

For the record Iam not trying to raid the site!! I just think it's a killer pic!!!!

Thanks. Let me know if I owe you for rights!!

after a lot of thought of this, and debating between a few...have finally decided it's pearl jam's Do The Evolution..it's thought provoking, it's sad, it's funny, it's cool to look at, the song kicks ass, and it's 4 minutes of pure bliss....

Ever wonder what the other songs from the show sounded like?
Below are the songs that were left off the live album, 4 in the main set and the whole encore. Thugs and Everytime would be so cool to hear.
Oh well.

700 ft. ceiling
daredevil
flamenco
escape
---
thugs
everytime you go
fire in the hole

so yeah call me an alkie or something but i just know that i drink so fuckin . I rememeber the first time i got drunk way back in the day, must'ave been like 12 , shit. hahahah i decided what would make the drunk thread killer is if we paid no attention to punctuaiton. just fuckin write so it'll be funnier, ha,. i'm overlookinbg as i write and it's screwed up. so drunk sotryltelling tim.. ha! when i was 15 i got drunk with a bunch of friends, we had a forty and a two-litre boitlle of cream-soda and anywayt, these guys were sipping the bacardi and chuggin the cream-soda and we ran out of cream soda and they stopped drinking and i was just like "oh well" and started chugging down the rum, these guys just wanted to throiiw the bottle in the bushes and come back for it later, the last thing i remember is walking to the skate-park utterly loaded, swaying and shit. and i woke up the next morning out of cigarettes and feeling as fresh as a spring-chicken,,

i remembered a dream i had where someone was trying to pull me out of a wooden box with a hole in the side and i kept hitting my head, so anyeay, i go downstairs and my mom comes down and starts yelling at me she leaves and my dad comes and he's like "well, ya got drunk for the first time, today you're a man" ha! anyway, they told me that they had gotten a call from a friend of mine that i was covered in puke at the skate-park and someone had called the cops. my parents show up and i'm underneath the quarter-pipe laughing my ass, they try to get me out from under there and i kept banging my head and shit... the cops wanted to take me to th hospital but my dad was like "he's allright." and they took me home. what a story! i'm the best...

Tonight i drank some beer... nothin elaboret.. wen tot he bar and hit on some chicks and got a phone number that i'm never gonna call but it's the fact i got the number that makes it all so more important. now i'm gonna listen to fully completely and pass-out...

goodbye and goodnight... fellow hipbasers... of the world.. unite!

P.S. ~ I decided on a drunken singing the Hip stumbling home poll idea that sucks but vote twice a day!!... and i gotta go listen to FC now...

I can't believe what I'm seeing on TV! Of course the big news here is the final Phish show in Coventry VT. The mud is bad they are turning people away. People are just parking on interstate 91, there's like 7 miles of cars parked there, and they are walking like 10-20 even more miles to go to to the show. People are just ditching their cars and going. Some people have even been left behind by people they were traveling with! Even if they finally get there, they might be still turned away. The concert area, parking, campgrounds, etc can not handle any more people because of the mud! It's a wonder they don't have a riot.

So much for the organizers telling people to not come early! Seems like the early comers will get to see the show!

Phish was supposed to hit the stage at 5pm and they still have yet to go on. It's just a huge mess. I think someone's trying to tell Phish something! lol

I had a feeling, knowing what I know about the Northeast Kingdom, that this was not a good idea, even if it is EXTREMELY well organized and even if the weather was better.

This of course begs the question. What if this were the hip? Would you do the same?
