Any one watch it?
I said all along that I wouldn't, I mean replacing Michael Hutchence would be like the Hip replacing Gord. he was one of the great front men.
Oh well, I ended up watching and it was surprisingly good, the people could sing, much better than any Idol contestant. I still don't think you can replace Hutchence, but I didn't find it un bearable. 4 canadians are among the contestants so that is cool, one almost got the boot though.

I think I'm going to head over to the local 24 hour grocery store and seek some reprieve from this heat in the frozen food section. Who's with me?

I just heard the forecast for Toronto this week; highs nearing 35 with the humidex pushing 42 - 45! (95 to 108-113 farenhiet!!!)

Anyone ever hear of "Emperor Penguin" refered to in this way before?

Appreciation threads are a great way to show that you care. They allow you to proclaim your love for carpet, watermelon, hair bands, or anything else you may enjoy. Appreciation threads make the item in question feel happy and loved.

Perhaps the most wicked cool thing about appreciation threads is that you can be really fond of something crappy, like Labatt Blue Dry, but you might start to doubt that this thing is actually good. Starting an appreciation thread is a great idea because you will have at least one person respond by saying something like "Hell ya! Labatt Blue Dry ROCXXXXXXXXXZZZZ!!! Right on!!" This will reaffirm your belief that the thing you like is actually good and you will get happier.

Anybody see TSN at 6? About 45mins. into the program they were talking about the Dan Snyder Golf Tourney in Almira, ON. You could see Gord Sinclair and Gord Downie in the background chatting with people and Gord D was wearing a funny multi-colored bucket hat, and a weeks worth of stubble, he looked crazy. :lol: Just thought I'd mention it, it will probably repeat at 11pm (EST). The tournament was yesterday, Im hoping some pictures will surface on the web eventually.

Did anybody else hear that the Constantines were opening for the Foo Fighters on their tour across Canada? I thought I heard that somewhere this weekend. Everything got real hazy after the Riders self destructed.

So after 4 years of dating my girlfriend, playing hip nearly non-stop in my car, and taking her to the wasaga beach show last summer, she has finally seen what we all see in gordie and the boys.

For the longest time the only songs she liked were ABAC and Bobcaygeon, but then it was just like all of a sudden she converted and stopped complaining that gord's voice sounds like "a sheep"... regardless, she took all my greatest hits mixes.

Anyway, just thought I'd share some great news!!
