For all the Bob Dylan fans out there, check this out!



In an event that brought together two of America’s most influential and revered cultural innovators, “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan” will make its U.S. broadcast premiere on the award-winning “American Masters” series Monday and Tuesday, September 26-27 at 9 p.m. EST on PBS (check your local listings).

The two-part film, directed by Martin Scorsese, focuses on Dylan’s life and music from 1961-66 and includes never-seen footage from the Bob Dylan Archives and interviews with Allen Ginsberg, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez and other artists and musicians whose lives intertwined with Dylan’s during that time.

A DVD version of the documentary, featuring additional never-before-seen footage, will be released on September 20. Apple will present the DVD and international version of “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan,” and is the corporate underwriter of the PBS broadcast.

I listened to Road Apples yesterday, as I was walking my dog, and I put my player on random...what a treat!

Road Apples was my favorite Hip album for quite some time, probably until Phantom Power came out, but I had never thought to listen to it in random order. It was fantastic to listen to it on headphones, and to also hear a completely different play order.

Another thing that occured to me while listening to "Fiddler's Green", I bet someone with a real twangy voice would cover it well. I'm thinking along the lines of Dwight Yoakam, or Randy Travis, or even Steve Earle. It just seems to lend itself to a rough guitar/country style...and I don't even like country music. Am I nuts here?

Tribute band Practically Hip is performing at Gables in Grand Bend. It's a cool bar that actually played host to the boys in the 80s when they were starting out. Should be a great show, just thought I'd let those of you in the area know about it. Grand Bend is about 50 minutes West of London, and an hour south-west of KW.
